Researchers Use RFID to Protect Endangered Plants

Researchers in the United Kingdom at the University of Kent and the South African National Biodiversity Institute plan to implement the use of RFID technology to protect rare and endangered plants from poaching. A system has been developed and tested that detects when an RFID-tagged plant is removed from its expected location.
