The Sentry Instrument tags are small footprint, low profile mount-on-metal tags that provide exemplary read range for tags that are so small and have such a minimal ergonomic impact.

The tag comes in three lengths, 27 mm (1.06”), 15 mm (0.6”) and 12 mm (0.49”). All are less than 2mm (0.07”) in width and height, so they blend almost seamlessly onto the contours of surgical instruments, hand tools, weapons and metrology equipment. The 27 mm version delivers nearly 8 feet of read distance when mounted on a long, thin metal object. These tags enable RFID to be applied to an entire new class of assets. Whereas earlier tags were difficult to install or were too large and interfered with the way operators used the tool/asset, a dab of epoxy quickly attaches these tags to the asset without impacting the ergonomics of the tool.

Standard on these tags is our ViziCore construction which provides a very high level of impact, vibration and temperature resistance. These tags are also resistant to a very wide range of chemicals, and have an ingress protection rating of 68. Like all Sentry products, the Instrument tags can easily be adapted for applications involving overmolding/overspraying or embedding in metal.
