Vizinex RFID’s Sandra Garby Named 2017 Women of Influence Honoree by Lehigh Valley Business

Vizinex RFID, the industry leader in developing and manufacturing high performance RFID tags tailored to specific applications, is pleased to announce President and VP of Operations Sandra Garby has been named one of Lehigh Valley Business’s 2017 Women of Influence.

“I am honored and humbled to be selected as an influential woman in the Lehigh Valley,” said Garby. “There are many commendable women who are making a difference in the Greater Lehigh Valley and I am beyond grateful to have received this recognition as one of them.”

Garby, an advocate of encouraging women of all ages to pursue a career in STEM, is an active community member who found herself a minority as she began her career in 1986 as an applications engineer at Heraeus. As a technical expert at the global technology company, Garby found herself interacting with predominantly male customers and engineers.

Today, Garby, who earned her undergraduate degree from Alfred University and her MBA from La Salle University, still finds herself as one of a few women among a male-dominated space and she continues to thrive. At Vizinex, Garby oversees the company’s manufacturing operations and has successfully implemented process improvements and testing automation, which more than doubled manufacturing capability. While the environment may be intimidating to some, Garby has been able to succeed and sets an example for other women in her company and in manufacturing.

Garby is one of 28 women on Lehigh Valley Business’ Women of Influence list this year. All honorees will be celebrated at the fifth annual Women of Influence luncheon and awards ceremony at Cedar Crest College in Allentown on Wednesday, May 10th. Tickets to the event can be purchased here.
