Vizinex Donates Produce to Plant a Row Lehigh Valley

The team at Vizinex RFID, the industry leader in developing and manufacturing high performance RFID tags tailored to specific applications, recently completed its 2020 donation of garden-grown produce to benefit food-insecure families through Plant a Row Lehigh Valley. Vizinex partnered with St. Ann Catholic (Emmaus) Church’s Knights of Columbus’ Gardens of Mercy, which donated about 1,200 pounds of produce to the initiative this year.

Plant a Row Lehigh Valley invites organizations and individuals to designate a garden row for the donations and also accepts excess tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, peppers and other produce from personal gardens. The food is distributed to food pantries and meal centers in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and surrounding areas. Nazareth Area Food Bank, Sixth Street Shelter, New Bethany Ministries and the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank are just a few of the organizations that receive the produce and distribute it to their clients.

“Members of the Vizinex team enjoy gardening, so this was a great way to share the harvest from our gardens with the less fortunate,” says Robert Oberle, Ph.D., Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Vizinex RFI. “This is our fifth year of participating in Plant a Row Lehigh Valley, and Vizinex is honored to be able to help put healthy food on the tables of families who may otherwise go hungry.”
